For over a decade, we have featured a Word of the Day that showcases how vocabulary is used in The Times, and for almost as long, we have hosted our popular 15-Second Vocabulary Video Contest.
This school year, we expanded our vocabulary offerings to include daily and monthly challenges that engage students with words through writing, drawing and video creation. We have helped connect their language study to what they read in the newspaper and observe in their lives.
In this webinar, we will discuss how The Times can help students understand new words in context and prompt deeper thinking about the relationships between language and culture. We will also discuss our upcoming 15-Second Vocabulary Video Contest and other ways to use vocabulary as the basis for creative multimedia projects for many kinds of learners.
