Accelerating Product and Platform Innovations Across Coursera and Udemy

New AI-powered experiences, accessibility enhancements, and enterprise tools to better serve our global community of learners and customers

Since our recent closing of the Coursera and Udemy combination, we’ve been focused on one priority: delivering more value for learners, partners, and customers. By bringing together our teams and expertise, we’re able to move faster and introduce new experiences that help learners build in-demand skills and organizations achieve better outcomes.

I’m excited to share several new capabilities across Coursera and Udemy, from AI-powered learning experiences and accessibility enhancements to enterprise tools that help organizations build and measure workforce skills more effectively.

Helping Learners Build and Demonstrate Skills with AI
AI is creating new opportunities for learners to practice and validate skills in real world environments, helping learners move beyond content consumption to hands-on skill development.

  • Graded Labs and Role Play (Coursera): We launched a pilot that turns hands-on labs and Role Play activities into graded assessments with AI-powered evaluation, giving learners trusted evidence of their applied skills while helping employers and educators better verify job readiness.
  • Expanded Cloud Labs (Udemy): We expanded in-course labs with new AWS, AWS Bedrock, Azure, and Azure OpenAI workspaces, making it easier for instructors to create hands-on learning experiences with the cloud technologies learners use on the job.
  • Next Best Recommendations (Coursera): A new personalized recommendation experience helps learners discover relevant content after completing a course or Specialization, making it easier to continue building skills and earn valuable credentials.

Creating More Personalized and Accessible Learning Experiences
Learning works best when it adapts to individual preferences and helps learners maintain momentum. These recent enhancements make it easier for learners to engage with content in the ways that work best for them.

  • Enhanced Role Play (Udemy): New customization and video capabilities give organizations greater flexibility to tailor role play experiences to specific learning objectives and workplace scenarios.
  • Voice Enhancements (Coursera): Learners can now use their voice across AI-powered learning experiences, including speaking directly with AI personas in Role Play activities and responding verbally in Dialogue through new speech-to-text capabilities. These enhancements create more natural and immersive ways to deepen understanding and build workplace skills.
  • Dark Mode on Web (Coursera): One of our most requested learner features is now available across desktop and mobile web, creating a more consistent experience across devices while supporting learner comfort and accessibility.
  • Audio Mode for Readings (Coursera): Learners can now listen to a selection of reading content through a new read-aloud experience that automatically advances through course materials.

Giving Learning Leaders Better Insights and Support
Organizations increasingly need tools that help them understand program performance, support learners, and demonstrate business impact. This quarter, we introduced new capabilities designed specifically for enterprise administrators.

  • Expanded Team Plan Upskilling Tools (Udemy Business): Team Plan customers can now create AI-generated Learning Paths, assign courses, paths, and assessments, and access more than 500 skill assessments to benchmark proficiency and track learner progress—bringing structured upskilling and skills measurement to organizations of all sizes.
Team Plan Learning Paths
  • Skills Intelligence Foundation (Udemy): We expanded Udemy’s Skills Library, a standardized skills taxonomy that helps connect content and learning activities to measurable skills. This foundation supports more personalized, skills-based learning experiences and lays the groundwork for richer skills insights across the platform.
  • Expanded Enterprise Integrations (Coursera + Udemy): We expanded integrations with Workday and Degreed, making it easier to surface personalized learning within the enterprise tools employees already use. These updates improve content discovery, streamline administration, and help organizations connect learning to workforce skills and outcomes.
  • Enterprise MCP Capabilities (Coursera + Udemy): We expanded our Model Context Protocol (MCP) capabilities, giving organizations a secure, standardized way to connect AI tools — including their own assistants and agents — to Coursera and Udemy learning experiences. Learners can discover relevant content, personalized learning paths, and skill-building resources directly within AI-powered workflows.
  • Enhanced Admin Experience (Coursera): The new Admin Home has been redesigned with a unified dashboard for utilization, engagement, and skills insights, alongside Admin AI, a pilot for select enterprise administrators that uses conversational AI to turn learning data into actionable insights, helping organizations better understand program performance and impact.
