In a digital-first world, Russia is uniquely poised to benefit from learning technology and data science skills, delivered online to meet the needs of learners anywhere. According to McKinsey, over 50% of work activities are at the risk of automation in Russia. This, coupled with demographic challenges of a vast country, creates a strong need for a vibrant workforce equipped with the most in-demand skills. Today, we proudly announce the online Master of Data Science from the Higher School of Economics (HSE), one of Russia’s top universities, located in Moscow. This English-language degree is the first fully online master’s program in data science from a top-ten university in Russia. Open to those without any programming background, the program will offer hands-on training opportunities to prepare students for high-demand roles in data science, machine learning, and software engineering.
The program is designed by world-class professors from HSE’s Faculty of Computer Science and offers three career-related tracks: Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Researchers in Data Science. Each track provides students with the opportunity to work on real-world projects from the best technology companies in Russia, like Yandex. Students work closely with data science experts and complete projects with actual datasets from industry partners.
Offered on Coursera at a breakthrough price, students — even those without previous experience in the field — can enroll in the program from anywhere in the world and complete the courses on their own schedule. Learners can also take open courses before they commit to the full degree program.
