Three white men were on Nov. 24 for the pursuit and fatal shooting of Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man.
The verdict came as Americans were divided over the acquittal, a few days earlier, of Kyle Rittenhouse, who was found not guilty of homicide and other charges, and whose case ignited a national debate over vigilantism, gun rights and the definition of self-defense.
