I’m excited to welcome Karthik Chakkarapani to Coursera as our new SVP & Chief Information Officer.
Karthik joins us at an important moment. As AI transforms how people learn and work, we’re embracing its potential across Coursera — from the experiences we build on our platform to how our own teams operate every day. In this role, Karthik will lead IT, Information Systems, and our internal AI enablement, helping us build the systems and capabilities to operate as an increasingly AI-enabled company.
Karthik brings more than 20 years of global technology leadership, most recently serving CIO and Head of Enterprise AI at Zuora, where he built next-generation operating models leveraging agentic AI, predictive intelligence, and autonomous workflows to drive greater efficiency, growth, and customer impact. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at Signify, Cisco, and Salesforce, leading large-scale digital and business transformations. His work has been recognized by Gartner’s Eye for Innovation, CIO 100, CSO 100, and Constellation Research Business Transformation 150.
Karthik completed the Advanced Management Program from INSEAD and holds an MBA in Finance and Strategy from DePaul University, an MS in Electronic Systems from the University of South Australia, and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Madras.
