Pop-Tart Cat

Students in U.S. high schools can get free digital access to The New York Times until Sept. 1, 2021.

Nyan Cat, an animated flying cat with a Pop-Tart body leaving a rainbow trail, has been viewed and shared across the web hundreds of millions of times. On Feb. 22, a one-of-a-kind version of the meme was sold online — for roughly $580,000.

What do you think of the “Pop-Tart cat?” Do you think digital art should be as highly valued as physical art? Do you enjoy looking at or creating such art? What are some of your favorite memes and virtual images?
